我不相信我們已經回到美國一個月了。我們在太湖大學堂的經驗是一個轉變，我認為我對中國文化的認知仍然是個初學者，但是如果我們沒有跟你們相處過,我就更不知道自己不懂之處了。艾莉絲與喬登正在善用他們的經驗，並了解到他們學到了很多的東西。他們在漢語方面有顯著的進展，部分原因是因為他們有一個新的，更好的老師，也是因為他們意識到，他們希望能夠與他們在太湖和中國遇到的有趣的人進行更多的溝通交流。 我們同封寄上蜜蜂劉老師要的蜜蜂雜誌。

Hi, Sami, Chris, and Diana

I cannot believe we have been home in the US for a month. Our experience with you at Taihu was transformative --- I think my understanding of the Chinese culture is still a “beginner,” but I would not even understand what I do not know if we had not spent time with you.

Ellis and Jordan are still processing their experience, and recognizing how much they learned. They progressed significantly in their Mandarin class, partly because they have a new and better teacher, but also because they realize that they want to be able to communicate with the interesting people they met at Taihu and in China more generally.

Your friend, whose name I never learned, asked me to send magazines about bees to him, so please find enclosed a set of issues. If he wants more back issues, please let me know; I would be glad to send more. There is another magazine that we are trying to contact for back issues, but they don’t return emails and there is no number on their web site.
